This is a similar card I made for the instruction video.

View from a slightly different angle.

My apology for the too close camera angle.  I am still trying to figure why the output is different from what I have seen on my Mac screen.  If you have any suggestion/answer, I would truly appreciate them.

Please feel free to use the design for non commercial purpose.  Please contact me if you are planning to use it for charity purpose.

Hope you enjoy making this card and I look forward to seeing your creation.

Going to College

This week I made a quick and simple card for my niece who has just started her college.  Time really flies, I still remember baby-sitting a 4-month old baby who has cried all the entire hour while her mom was with the dentist.  I am so proud of this young lady.

Romantic Sunset

This week I decided to play with moving paper mechanism instead of my usual pop-up card.
The card depicts a lakeside sunset where a couple sharing the tranquility and beauty of the moment.

First glance at the card where the couple are holding hands.

Once the doily (tab) is pulled up, they lean towards each others shoulders and the sentence "Treasure each moment together" is revealed.

My first attempt in creating an animation to demonstrate how the effect of the pull mechanism.

Rose Bouquet Pop-Up card

A rose bouquet card for different occasions.

I used Cheery Lynn Designs Alison's Ribbons (B335) dies to cut the lace frame around the card.  The delicate cut out is perfect fit for a small size card.

A video on how the flowers elevated.

A look at the card when it is opened flat on the table.  The rose bouquet is tilted towards the center.

Butterfly on my Gerbera Daisy

A pop-up card made with inspiration from my Gerbera Daisy plant.  The card is depicting a common scene where butterflies will hover over my daisy (minus the Forget-Me-Not flowers).  I don't remember seeing a real Forget-Me-Not plant and these are my take after researching the plant on the internet.

Another angle of the card.

Tiki Bar Templates and Video Instruction

http://creatifjourney.blogspot.com/

I have attempted to document instructions on how I make some of cards but find them too lengthy and decided video is the best way to explain them.  This is my first attempt at making an instructional video and my apology for any unintended mistakes.   Please feel free to comment on them as your feedback will help me to improve on future videos.   Also the link to the original Tiki Bar post with more photos of the card.

Tiki Bar Beach Party

Today, I made a pop-up invitation card to a beach party.  Both the templates and the instruction to make the Tiki bar pop up will be included in a follow-up post.

This is the decorated Tiki Bar after the card has been opened.

This is the front of the card.   I used two different sets of dies to cut the hibiscus flowers.  The flowers on the card base are flat to ensure the card is level once it is opened.

The top upper left flowers are in 3D (close-up look below).

A tag with the details of the party is tied to the card base with an anchor : )

Surfing Fish

Today I have a pop-up card with a fish surfing in the wave.

I keep it very simple with lots of white space for greeting later as this card can be used for different occasions.  I stenciled bluish grey color at the corners to give a touch of color.  It would be a great card for a friend who loves fish or fishing...

Close-up look of the fish.  The fish is cut out from metal foil and it reflects the color of the clothing of the audience (LOL I guess you can tell that I was wearing an orange shirt while taking these photos).

Wedding/Anniversary Card

Today, I have a layered card and keep it as clean as possible with white as my main theme.
A card that can be used for celebration of wedding as well as anniversary.

This is a side view of the card to show the multiple layers.

Tip:
I used a wet cloth to slightly dampen the punched out floral shape before I embossed them to create a stronger and deeper impression.

A tribute to the QUEEN of my heart

Bleeding Heart flowers have always captured my imagination.  It is like baring one's soul and giving love to the world unconditionally just like mothers do.  I also found this beautiful poem by  Helen Steiner Rice from this website Indobase Holidays to go with this card.

A Mother's Love
A Mother's love is something
that no on can explain,
It is made of deep devotion
and of sacrifice and pain,
It is endless and unselfish
and enduring come what may
For nothing can destroy it
or take that love away . . .
It is patient and forgiving
when all others are forsaking,
And it never fails or falters
even though the heart is breaking . . .
It believes beyond believing
when the world around condemns,
And it glows with all the beauty
of the rarest, brightest gems . . .
It is far beyond defining,
it defies all explanation,
And it still remains a secret
like the mysteries of creation . . .
A many splendored miracle
man cannot understand
And another wondrous evidence
of God's tender guiding hand.

This is my card where the front depicts the scene of the April shower.

Inside the card, the bleeding heart flowers and leaves are still cover with some sparkles from the rain droplets.

Harbinger of Spring - Crocus pop-up card

When the words "Purple" and "Spring" come to my mind, I can't help but think of those beautiful crocuses announcing the arrival of spring with such cheerfulness.

A pop-up card with a few crocuses blooming in a white and blue porcelain pot.

Cheery Blossoms and Koi Spring Card

A very oriental theme card with cheery blossoms blooming over the Koi Pond.

To create the rain drops on the surface of water, I embossed a plastic sheet with multiple stacked circle dies without cutting through the plastic.
