I am just amazed by the numbers of beautiful pattern papers on the market for this Christmas As part of my challenge as a DT at Papier, I have created three Christmas cards. I have to admit it was a daunting task to narrow down my paper choices.
I decided to up the challenge further by giving myself additional criteria (below) and the cards must be linked through a story line:
- A card based on the a key element in the paper
- A card that has interaction component
- A card that only take less than 10 minutes to create
The first card, "Homeward Bound", is made from the Webster's Pages Royal Christmas Collection 'Ride Home". The car is so cute and loaded with gifts and Christmas tree which fits my homecoming theme perfectly. Maybe this can be an inspiration for a card to send to someone who you wish to see this Christmas For the inside part, instead of covering the beautiful pattern, I cut some Christmas ornaments using Spellbinders dies. The upper two are stamped with Hero Arts greetings and the bottom one provides the writing area for the sender to pen down additional messages.
The second card is about "A VIEW FROM THE WINDOW" upon arriving home. I used Cheery Lynn Designs dies to cut out the window and the windowsill decoration. The "mist" brick background is made from a mask I cut out using the latest Tim Holtz Brick Wall die. Looking inside is the Christmas tree surrounded by presents and the cute ginger breads. The tree is also decorated with candies and they are made from the amazing Graphic 45 Nutcracker Sweet paper collection. The greeting message is hidden until the tree is pulled upward.
The third one is about "GIVING". I used Webster's Pages Royal Christmas Collection 'Pine Needles' pattern paper that has beautiful Christmas tone on one side and a light colour pattern on the other side. I maximized my usage of the entire piece of paper by cutting and framing my greeting (Hero Arts stamps) with the bottom part of the paper. I stamped and cut three stars to cover the Webster's Pages brand on the border. As for the inside, I included a strip of Christmas washi tape to adhere the gift card. The light color pattern enables the sender to write additional messages without further enhancement to the card.
It is hard to resist the other beautiful pattern papers on the market and I may just ended making a few more cards.
